Our Sin Harms Others

Romans 5:20: Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

Romans 5:15: But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

Consider what Adam and Eve set in motion when they sinned. And then consider what we set in motion when we sin. Sometimes our sin affects others directly and sometimes it affects them indirectly because we are not loving them, blessing them and serving them as the Lord wants us to. Likewise, when we obey the Lord that affects others. Have you ever shared the gospel with someone, they received Christ and then they shared the gospel with someone else? Have you ever given Bible truth to someone who then taught others what you taught them? Have you ever caused others to sin? Have you ever neglected to share the gospel with someone and they have later committed grievous sins? When we throw a stone into a pond there are many ripples, not just one.

2 Timothy 2:2: And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Matthew 23:15: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

I remember encouraging others to join the unbiblical church that I was a part of before I became saved. I still pray for one that I encouraged to join that church who did join it. Now I encourage others to come to the Biblical church that I am part of. Even Jesus* disciples tried to prevent others from coming to Him.

Matthew 19:13: Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Lord help us to bring others to you rather than driving them away.
